Exmouth is a delightful holiday destination. The fabulous long sandy beach and Esplanade is less than a five-minute walk from Fernside. There are beautiful shoreline walks, majestic coastal scenery, swimming, sailing, boat trips and donkey rides all waiting to be enjoyed.

Immediately at hand, the Exe Estuary offers fishing, sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips. There are sailing and diving schools nearby, including kite and windsurfing instruction. There are children's playgrounds with trampolines and boating lakes, several beautiful parks overflowing with colourful summer flowers and numerous places to sit and relax. Large picnic, barbeque and dog walking areas are within easy reach.

Year-round, the town plays host to lots of special events. From the Exmouth Summer Festival to the Power Boat Racing weekend, to sand carving and volleyball competitions. Numerous restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs await you.

Exploring further afield, the Jurassic coastline, a newly designated World Heritage Site, begins at Exmouth. For those who enjoy walking, the southwest coastal path heading eastwards is within easy reach. Many National Trust properties, picture book Devon villages, Exmoor and Dartmoor and the glorious Devon Countryside are all waiting to be explored. The nearby cathedral city of Exeter offers cultural opportunities, history and the newly opened shopping haven Princesshay.
